Redundancy calculator.

If your job is going, the law sets a minimum payment. Your years of service and your weekly pay, and you know exactly where you stand before any meeting with your employer. If a package has been offered, add it and see what it is really worth.

Have the offer looked at↗
Worth knowing

Statutory is the floor, not the ceiling.

The formula

Two weeks' pay per year of service plus one extra week, with weekly pay capped at €600 for the calculation. Two years' continuous service to qualify. The statutory payment is tax free.

The extra is where the tax lives

Anything above statutory is ex gratia. The Basic Exemption, the Increased Exemption and the SCSB formula can shelter much of it, depending on service, pay and pension. How a package is structured changes what you keep.

A genuine redundancy is about the role

The job goes, not the person. If the role reappears under a new title, or the offer comes with a waiver of claims attached, have the wording looked at before you sign anything.

Facing redundancy?

Do not sign anything until you have had it looked at. One call, and you will know if the offer is right. Workplace claims also run on a strict clock; check yours.
