Conveyancing cost estimator.

Most of the cost of buying a house is not the solicitor. This adds up the whole legal side, so you can see the professional fee, the tax and the outlays separately.

Reading a quote

Fee, outlay and tax are three different things.

A quote that looks cheaper is often just a quote that leaves the outlays out. Ask any solicitor to break it down the way we have here.

How we charge↗

The professional fee

What the firm charges for the work. VAT at twenty three per cent is added to it. This is the only figure the firm controls.

Outlays

Money we pay out on your behalf. Searches, Tailte Eireann registration fees, a commissioner's fee, a copy folio. We pass these on at cost.

Stamp duty

A tax on the deed, paid to Revenue. Nothing to do with the firm. On a sale, there is none to pay.

What is not in here

The estate agent's commission on a sale, your surveyor, your lender's valuation fee, and any local property tax or management charge to be adjusted on closing.
